Data were collected by GfK Retail and Technology which said that these information were taken during the first week of November.

Fifty per cent of the market share was occupied by the Blu-ray player which is a significant increase of 10 per cent which was recorded in October 2007.

GfK also admitted that Blu-ray players were to replace DVD 1.5 times faster than DVD replaced VHS machines. What do you think of that? Many people wondered whether or not the Blu-ray format will be a success or not, but this figure suggests that this may be starting to change with more and more consumers switch to high definition
